SURFACE PREPARATION
General: All surfaces must be clean and free
of dust, dirt, efflorescence, and other foreign matter.
Surface may be cleaned using TSP, or detergent solution. Cracks
or holes should be dug out and any old caulking material removed.
Crumbling, loose and broken material should be removed with
wire brush or by chipping. Cracks or holes should be
cut open to a minimum 3⁄4” depth and width, for
proper expansion of Anchor-Set.
Cracks should be cut square, or inner cavity of crack undercut
(do not V cut). If crack or hole is not damp at time
or repair, wet the hole with water. Sweep out all puddles,
leaving surface damp but not wet.
MIXING
Use only enough clean water to quickly and thoroughly mix
Anchor-Set with a paddle or putty knife to a putty consistency.
Mixing time should not exceed 2 minutes. Mix only the
quantity that can be used in about 3 minutes.
Mixingwater should be about 70F. Do not use hot water,
because material will set too fast and reduce its strength,
unless placed immediately after mixing. Slower set will
result if cold water is used in mixing. CHECK SETTING
TIME
with a small batch.
APPLICATION DATA
Patching and filling cracks: Place Anchor-Set with force
into damp hole or crack by pushing firmly. Troweling
surface may break seal, so smooth surface when placing material.
Hold material in place for one minute. Keep placed material
damp (not wet) for at least 15 minutes. Shave off excess
material with knife.Under water or running water: Place Anchor-Set
in crack or hole, starting from side to cut flow. Force
material in with as much pressure as possible. At
point of greatest flow, hold Anchor-Set in hand or trowel
until warmth is felt, then press firmly into opening, maintaining
pressure until it sets and leak is stopped. Anchoring bolts,
machinery, etc.: Holes should be drilled deep to secure
bolts, and at least 1⁄2” wider on all sides of
bolt. Fill hole with mixed Anchor-Set and immediately
force bolt, screw, etc., into filled hole and tamp firmly.
Keep placed material damp (not wet) for at least 15 minutes.
Do not
put pressure on bolt, post etc. for several hours.
