PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Ultra Skim Coat USP-900 is especially formulated for flash patching and skim coating of wood, cementitious, ceramic and quarry tile surfaces using new internal drying technology. Ultra Skim Coat USP-900 is designed for sub floor preparation utilizing internal self-drying technology.    In most cases floor coverings may be installed over USP-900 when the USP-900 is not completely dry.  Normal drying time is one to two hours.USP-900 can be used for flash patching, skim coating and to fill areas with irregular surfaces such as ridges, gouges, depressions and seams.  It can be used on almost any type of sub floor.  The surface should be cleaned free of oil, grease and loose debris.  The surface does not need to be primed and only water needs to be added to the USP-900 in ratio by volume of two parts USP-900 to one part water.

USP-900 can be spread easily from a thin coat up to one half inch over large areas with excellent coverage and little effort.USP-900 has the following advantages:
1. Finish flooring products can be installed in one to two hours after the application of the USP-900.

2. Plywood joints, floor seams and transition areas can be filled and leveled out with USP-900.

3. USP-900 bonds permanently to all cementitious surfaces as well as wood, terrazzo, ceramic and quarry tile without the need to prime these surfaces.

4. For home applications USP-900 can be installed over old adhesive residue.  The old adhesive residue should be scraped to level the surface and abraded to enhance the adhesion of the USP-900.

5. USP-900 is formulated so that the application will not alter the floor covering manufacturer warranties due to softening, staining, mildewing or crumbling from intermittent moisture.

6. This product has been formulated utilizing the latest in polymer technology.  Our system utilizes and ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer.

7. USP-900 can be used as a finished wearing surface if it is coated, after and overnight dry, with USP’s Wet-Look Stain or Clear Sealer.  The  USP-900 must be applied at a minimum depth of one-eighth inch and only on surfaces where there is light foot traffic or light to moderate traffic with casual use by pneumatic tire vehicles.

8. USP-900 can be used inside or outside on horizontal or vertical surfaces. On outside applications it must be coated with a sealer such as USP’s Wet-Look Acrylic Stain and/or Sealer.

LIMITATIONS
1. Not designed for direct traffic.
2. Do not apply at temperatures below 49º F.
3. Should not be applied on wet surfaces.
4. Do not apply at a thickness over one half inch.
5. Do not over trowel or air bubbles could develop in the applied USP-900.
6.   Do not mechanically mix at too high a speed or air can be trapped
in the USP-900 mixture.SUB FLOOR PREPARATION

All sub floors must be sound.  The sub floor must be clean.  Remove any waxes, oils and sealers.  The sub floor must be free of dust, debris and any matter that will be a bond breaker.  Al sub floors must be dry and the temperature of the area must be above 49º F.  The cleaned area does not need to be primed.MIXINGThe mixing ratio is two parts powder by volume to one part water.  Add powder to the water not the water to the powder. Add the powder slowly and mix
with a mechanical mixer at approximately five hundred to six hundred rpm’s to insure the mix is lump free, creamy, and smooth and at a trowel consistency.  Apply the USP-900 using a steel trowel.  Use enough pressure to force the USP-
900 into all the defaults and feather (skim coat) the USP-900 onto the sub floor surface.

POT LIFE
The pot life will vary based on the ambient moisture and temperature conditions.  Generally the pot life will be fifteen to twenty minutes at 70º F.  The pot life can be extended by re-mixing the USP-900 with a mechanical mixer. No additional water should be added.  To avoid waste mix only the amount of material that can be applied in fifteen minutes.

THICKNESS OF APPLICATION
USP-900 can be applied from a skim coat up to one half inch thick over large areas.  In well-confined areas, such as thresholds, height transitions between precast panels or where walls have been removed, much thicker amounts of USP-
900 can be applied.

FLOOR INSTALLATION
Most floor coverings can be installed over damp (less than five percent moisture) USP-900.  Make sure the USP-900 is hard enough to allow application of the flooring adhesive with a noticed trowel without damage to the USP-900 surface.  This should be a period of approximately one hour after application of the USP-900.

COVERAGE
Due to the ability of USP-900 to be applied at a very small film thickness the coverage rate will be in excess of one hundred square feet per ten pounds over concrete and up to three hundred square feet over a plywood sub floor.  Scraped, roughened and cleaned old adhesive plywood floor would be closer to two hundred square feet.
